Works great. The best way to keep your show well organized.

Beste Musiker App im Store!!!

Besser geht nicht! Lässt kaum Wünsche offen. Keine Probe und kein Gig mehr ohne diese App. Good 4.0 Update! The only one i miss is how many Times i play each Song in Practice room.

Great App, best support ever

Im using Setlistmaker now since nearly two years, and its definitely one of the valuablest additions to my music business. It makes many things easier and faster to handle. SLM replaced completely all of my paper stuff and is able to control my Midi equipment.

The best APP ever!

This app is a must have for each musician and the service is absolutely top. Winfried

A great piece of software

I was looking for a management tool for all my lyrics and chord sheet to get rid of all the bloody paper work, always loosing the overview of what I can perform , what needs work etc. I finally found Set List Maker and my dream came true. It has so many features that it had a little learning curve but then everything was working very well. I don’t carry any papers to gigs now and I share the screen with my band mate just deciding intuitively what Song is next ( and he has to play with me ;-) Creating a setlist is now a matter of a few minute, changing is seconds, having up to date lead sheet with the band mates is now a piece of cake. I entered my approx. 300 songs on a Sunday afternoon, on an Ipad 2 having a backup on an Ipad Mini and throw away all my paper work. On stage I have a small Ipad holder, very near to me (eyes getting worse;-) but it is still much smaller than a big Sheet holder (what is the English name for these things?). There are now light probe as by the nature of iPads self illumination ;-) I share screen from an Ipad 2 to an Ipad 4, which needs a little time delay of about 4-6 seconds., But we are now used to it. And it is still not comparable with handling paper. The other way round from Ipad 4 to Ipad 2 is a bit faster, but due to the lpad2 has lower screen resolution than Ipad4, it is a bit „greasy" but still readable . Anyone writing bad reviews have not really taking the time to understand Set List Maker. It is a feature rich tool which needs to be understand but you can full customize it to your needs. One small hint: My band mate just told me he has deleted his whole song database, pressing the „Zurücksetzen“ (Geman) button. I don’t know how ist is named in English version, it is translatet to "revers“ Maybe it should get a stronger name like „Lösche DB“ -> Delete DB . Anyway he and me are still in heaven with SLM ;-) Also, there is a fantastic support and great user forum behind SLM. Keep up the good work especially as it is really worth the money. must have!

countless possibilities for live musicians - works great!

Almost back to quality

Having suffered severe changes and glitches, the programm now is almost as good as it was. Only the handling of full screen views of embedded pdf or other files is still pretty awkward. Please work on the sensitivity. update : new version killed the documents ,please fix quickly...

Good Concept, but absolute buggy

I like the concept, a few bugs are left.

Amazingly helpful - a gigging musicians must have app!

I have been using Set List Maker quite for a while now and it is amazing to see the developer constantly making the app better and better. And its not only about all the extremely helpful features: Song management, lyrics and chords, embedded documents, MIDI, metronome, etc. what makes this app so unique is also the easy user interface and the unparalleled support by the developer - himself a gigging musician. The latest main version adds a bunch of new features, mainly an improved overall design and multiple, customizable layouts for viewing set list and song data during gigs and rehearsals. Well done, Arlo! :-)

Superb / great tool on stage / excellent service

I am using the Set List Maker app with an iPad hooked up to an Alesis IO Docking Station. Since its initial release it has become my central tool on stage to manage my various set lists, to control the audio and click tracks, to send MIDI data, display the lyrics and all other information required "behind the scene". What is really superb is the possibility to combine MIDI presets with MIDI raw data. By this, my keyboards are being set up exactly the way I need them before starting with the next title (i. e. initializing the right voices, setting the modulation wheels level to the desired value while simultaneously lowering the expression pedal, so the strings wont overlay the epiano during the intro). And I love to run the apps audio output through the monitor speakers, so our drummer can pick up the exact beat by listening to the first strokes of the click track. And theres even another feature (not valid for iPad 1): By using the IO Docks video out cinch socket our vocalists can watch the apps PDF lyrics on a 42" teleprompter being placed right between the front wedges. And in case you are in trouble, just sent a mail to Arlo, the app developer. He will reply within 24 hours giving you the right advice. Hes a true professional and a real IT genious. Great piece of work, great app.

Perfect

I use Set List Maker to show lyrics and play tracks for practice, and control my VoiceLive3 via MIDI for live performance. Works perfect, no crashes like some other apps I tested. Thumbs up!

Top app to prepare and run your gig...

The Set List Maker has become my central tool for running the rehearsal sessions with my various bands and to control the whole performance. It is my personal number one choice and the most frequently used app on my iPads. Frankly speaking, it does take some time to get familiar with that app. But once you have entered all your MIDI parameters, the PDF lyrics and the MP3 audio tracks to the app youll soon find out that preparing your next gig will become as easy as never before. You can even make the app feed a beamer or a flatscreen for acting as a teleprompter in order to display the lyrics to your singer(s). And your band mates will love to stay in sync with your data just by a finger flip. Last but not least to mention the excellent service delivered by the developer, Arlo Leach. If you have a problem, he will respond promptly. Thats truly outstanding and one more reason to make the Set List Maker become part of your list of your most beloved apps.

Five stars all the way!

I have been using this app for a couple of weeks now, playing in a band that does all night shows, one hour shows and 3-4 song showcases. The app is indispensable for keeping all my lyrics, notes, and recordings in one place for practice. My favorites parts include how quickly with the handles I can shuffle songs to taylor sets to specific gigs and print or email the rest of the band set lists for the practice or gig. Also because we record our practices I have a recording attached to each song which is very helpful for home practice. I had some issue with the import tool, all of my own doing, but still managed to get most of my list imported. Adding all the data takes time, but once done adding a song or two is simple. Keeping notes for intros, breaks, and endings helps keep us all together. Sorting songs by various means is also very helpful. Probably the most useful app I have ever downloaded and was exactly what I needed. Thanks so much Arlo! Cheers, David

Great app but one more important feature needed.

This is really very helpful and a huge time saver. No more fighting with spreadsheets. Set designing is made really easy. There one additional feature I would like to see. Could the lyrics view be designed to auto scroll? For us musicians who multitask, a hands free auto scrolling lyric or chart would be really useful. Along with this, the text needs to be scaleable so it can be read easily from an iPod touch. I love this app but this added feature would make it even better. Beyond this I cant think of too much more to add. Wayne

Convenient, brilliant and FREE all in one.

Ive had this app for a long time (back to when the icon was pens and paper), and its been nothing short of brilliant. Its the app that has the most frequent updates by the developer on my iPod, which is surprising considering that its free. The ability to have a song list, take specific tunes and easily rearrange the order with or without breaks has helped my band and myself make balanced, and well organized/planned sets, without wasting any paper or time writing. Once the colour scheme was added, it also gave the ability to group songs together. I personally used the colours for the "feel" of the song so that a I dont accidentally put 4 ballads/thrashers/whatever together. If you do any performing (or are planning a multi-track release of some sort), this app will keep you efficient and allow full and easy evaluation of your set. I still cant believe its free, and I would gladly pay up to $5 for this app. Im super serial. Excelsior!

Set List Maker Review

I have been using this app for a month or so now and find it extremely well thought out and very intuitive to use too! I particularly like the ability to store all of my information with the songs and then easily create shows and sets for a variety of events! This is a great app for making sets and printing them in a show ready format! Rock on!

Awesome

This app works quite well, no bugs or issues after a few days use. Integrates very well with iTunes... Great app for any pro or amateur musician. Good job.

Great app for performing musicians

The functionality that has been incorporated into this app is fantastic. The developer must be a performing musician because the app is designed just the way you would want for a performance setting - and when you send suggestions they respond back very quickly, and then in the next upgrade you see them incorporated (if the suggestions were any good) Highly recommended.

Fab app. Multiple set list for multiple bands and shows is a snap.
